Get Into: Knelt Rote

In the search for some new grindcore done the way I like to hear it done, I remembered the name Knelt Rote popping up into various discussions on forums. Finding their name choice interesting, I decided to sample some tracks, and upon pressing play, was treated to the sensation of a good, mean ass kicking. Knelt Rote chose the perfect name, because this intense shit is the type of sonic violence you can only bow down to. Their formula seems simple enough: play powerviolence-gone-death metal, add a sprinkle of old-school hardcore and play it with the conviction and nuance of legit ass grindcore. The result seems to lie squarely in its own territory, exuding the vehemence of Assück, the anger of Dropdead and the slick barbarity of Inhume all in a cohesive and smart manner. The influences might be worn on their sleeve, but Knelt Rote have a more bleak way of unleashing their violence which makes this a more atmospheric affair than you might expect. Here's a good one; eat it up:

  3. Still waiting for those cds Cocktorn, hope you are suffering because of whatever member of your cracker family being dead. Either that or you are dying yourself, at least try to send the albums you owe a fuckload of people before leaving Planet Earth.

    1. Thanks for your interest! We decided the blog had run its course. I'm now writing for Lurker's Path and The Quietus. Noktorn has literally disappeared, which is a little worrisome.

    2. If you don't mind me asking, do you know anything more than the general public about Noktorn's disappearance? Like, when was the last time you guys talked? He seems to have disappeared from the public forums he frequented around March 2012, and I've been looking practically everywhere for him since (messaging bands he used to be associated with, searching local jail records and obituaries and just trying follow any leads I can manage to cough up from the Internet). It's a rather unsettling situation and I honestly don't really know what to make of it. I understand he most certainly can reserve his right to privacy, but even as a massive fan of his writing I highly doubt his ability to maintain a low profile online for very long, considering his personality.

All I know is that he stole from several various parties (including myself, and Extremely Rotten, the band he was touring with in 2011), then subtly disappeared without notice but somehow wasn't ever arrested at any point. He's neither listed as missing, nor dead, and yet he's still vanished into thin air. It just doesn't really add up.
